Introduction
Meat industry of Pakistan is at progressive stage as depicted by 100% increase in meat this year as compared to that of 2018. To coop the demand of industry for professionals having expertise in meat science and technology, Department of Meat Technology was established in 2018 in the Faculty of Animal Production and Technology, CUVAS, Bahawalpur, which aims to provide well qualified professionals, practically sound to manage meat supply chain, enhance sustainable meat production by innovative research, ensure export quality meat production at processing plants, product development by introducing latest processing and packaging techniques and to make them able to start their own business in meat sector. The Department is facilitated with an experimental slaughterhouse and an extensive meat processing lab. Furthermore, Meat Technology department is equipped with latest meat processing and packaging equipment to conduct innovative research and address the industrial issues. |
