Before you apply

Who needs to sit an entry test

This is the single question the admissions office is asked most often, and the rule is simple.

  • An entry test is required only for the DVM, MPhil and PhD programmes.
  • If you are applying to any other BS programme, no entry test is required for your admission.
  • MPhil applicants may present a GAT (NTS) score or qualify through a CUVAS entry test.
  • From Fall 2026, PhD admission is based solely on the GRE/HAT General Test and the relevant Subject Test through HEC-ETC.

Minimum academic requirements

MPhil — sixteen years of schooling, or four years of education (minimum 120 credit hours) after HSSC, with at least 50% marks or a 2.5 CGPA.

PhD — an MS/MPhil or equivalent degree with a minimum 3.0 CGPA out of 4.0, or 60% in the annual system. Candidates below that threshold may be admitted after completing 9–12 credit hours of Level 7 coursework with a 3.0 GPA.
