Office of the Pro-Chancellor
On three faculties built in a short span, and the university's next stage.
CUVAS will become a future hub of technologies related to animal and veterinary sciences.
It is a matter of pride to be associated with this university and to see the effect it is already having — on its students, on its research output, and on the livestock farmers of this region who feel that effect most directly.
In a comparatively short span of time the university has established three faculties, an achievement that reflects both intent and execution. That foundation is what makes the next stage possible.
Livestock contributes some 58 percent of the agricultural GDP of Pakistan. Over the past century the sector in this region has undergone a genuine paradigm shift — in how animals are bred, fed, treated and traded — and an institution of this kind exists to stay ahead of that change rather than follow it.
I encourage the Vice-Chancellor and the faculty to pursue higher rankings with the Higher Education Commission through collaborative work with national and international institutions, and to keep every stakeholder informed of developments in veterinary and animal sciences.
Priorities
Pursue improved Higher Education Commission rankings through measurable academic and research performance.
Work with peer institutions at home and abroad rather than in isolation.
Communicate developments in veterinary and animal sciences to farmers, industry and government.
Leadership
Three offices set the direction of the university — the Chancellor, the Pro-Chancellor and the Vice Chancellor.
Twenty departments across veterinary sciences, bio-sciences and animal production.
