Continuing Education & Extension

Diplomas, short courses and an emergency extension service delivered at farmers’ doorsteps.

ICE&E

The institute that leaves the campus

The Institute of Continuing Education and Extension exists to uplift rural farming communities. Its stated mission is to develop human resource through degree and diploma programmes and short training courses across veterinary and extension education.

It also runs an emergency extension service that reaches livestock farmers at their doorsteps — extension education and hands-on skills delivered where the animals actually are, rather than requiring farmers to travel.

Training areas

  • Livestock production and management
  • Poultry farming and dairy operations
  • Camel husbandry
  • Fisheries and wildlife
  • Equine care
  • Para-veterinary training

Who it trains

Livestock and poultry farmers, veterinary staff, and para-veterinary personnel seeking employment or self-employment. For many of these students this is not a first degree — it is a route to a better living from work they already do.
