Biography
Dr. Muhammad Kashif Iqbal (DVM, MPhil, PhD, NAVLE) is serving as Assistant Professor at the Institute of Continuing Education & Extension, Cholistan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (CUVAS), Bahawalpur, Pakistan. He completed his DVM and MPhil in Clinical Medicine from the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS), Lahore, and earned his PhD in Clinical Veterinary Medicine from Huazhong Agricultural University, Wuhan, China, under the prestigious Chinese Government Scholarship. His PhD research, titled “Treatment of Chicken Growth Plates by HIF-1α and Hsp90 Inhibitors in Thiram-Induced Tibial Dyschondroplasia,” focused on the molecular mechanisms of growth plate disorders and therapeutic interventions in poultry medicine.
In addition to teaching, Dr. Kashif actively contributes to clinical services at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital. He also serves as Master Trainer for Artificial Insemination and Veterinary Technicians and has coordinated the Livestock Assistant Diploma program. He previously served as Manager (Innovation & Commercialization) at the Directorate of ORIC, CUVAS, where he facilitated research commercialization, industry linkages, intellectual property management, startup incubation, and innovation-driven funding initiatives.
Internationally credentialed, Dr. Kashif has successfully passed the Basic Clinical Sciences Examination (BCSE) of the National Examining Board (CVMA, Canada) and the North American Veterinary Licensing Examination (NAVLE) conducted by ICVA in 2025. He is a member of the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association and holds lifetime registration with the Pakistan Veterinary Medical Council. He is the recipient of a Higher Education Commission (HEC) Start-Up Research Grant titled “Clinico-Epidemiological Investigation of Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) from Subclinical Mastitis in Dairy Goats.” He is also a co-author of the book “Clinical Vet Guide – Domestic Animal Medicine: A Concise Guide for Veterinary Students and Practitioners.”
His research focuses on clinical medicine, infectious diseases, molecular diagnostics, antimicrobial resistance, and translational veterinary therapeutics. Dr. Iqbal has published more than 40 research articles in national and international peer-reviewed journals, with a cumulative impact factor exceeding 97. He has served as a reviewer for several high-impact international journals, including Acta Tropica, Microbial Pathogenesis, Inflammation, BioMed Research International, International Immunopharmacology, Toxicology Mechanisms and Methods, npj Science of Food, Discover Oncology, BMC Genomics, and Frontiers in Veterinary Science. He also serves as an Editorial Board Member of Animal and Veterinary Sciences and Frontiers in Veterinary Science.
