Biography

Dr. Zahid Manzoor is an Assistant Professor of Pharmacology and Toxicology with academic, teaching, and research experience in pharmacology, toxicology, clinical pharmacology, and biomedical sciences. His research focuses on understanding the molecular and pharmacological mechanisms underlying major human diseases and identifying potential therapeutic targets and drug candidates. His current research interests include cancer pharmacology, neurological disorders, antimicrobial resistance, metabolic disorders, and drug response mechanisms. He is particularly interested in integrating conventional pharmacology with computational and systems-based approaches, including transcriptomics, proteomics, network pharmacology, molecular docking, bioinformatics, and drug repurposing. His broader research interests include pharmacokinetics, medicinal plants and natural products, oxidative stress, molecular mechanisms of disease, and translational pharmacology. His work aims to connect molecular-level findings with clinically relevant therapeutic questions and to explore biomarkers, disease-associated pathways, mechanisms of drug resistance, and potential therapeutic interventions. He is also actively involved in postgraduate research supervision, scientific writing, systematic reviews and meta-analyses, and the development of interdisciplinary research projects in pharmacology and toxicology.
