What this department covers

The Department of Anatomy & Histology provides the foundation for understanding the structure and organization of the animal body. Anatomy is an essential part of veterinary education and is taught in the first and second semesters of DVM, B.S. MLT, B.S. Poultry and other undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

The department focuses on both the macro and microstructure of the body through courses including General Veterinary Anatomy, General Veterinary Histology, Systemic Veterinary Histology, Embryology and Comparative Anatomy. Teaching combines lectures, videos and practical training through dissection and histological study to develop essential medical and clinical skills.

The department supports practical learning through two undergraduate laboratories with audio-visual facilities, two postgraduate laboratories, a dissection hall and a loose bone and skeleton preparation room. These facilities help students develop strong anatomical knowledge and practical skills for clinical education.
